| Real Metal Tiles - Quick Install and Finishing
Tips |
The following brief summary outlines the steps for installing REAL Metal Tiles.
For detailed instructions and technical information, see the
Real Metal Tile Installation and Finishing Guide
Install tiles with a standard pre-mixed ceramic tile adhesive
or modified thin set mortar using a 3/16” x 3/16” v-notch
trowel.
When cutting the tiles with a wet saw be
sure that the metal face is up.
No tile spacers are needed, however they may
be used to space tiles to fill a given area.
Caulk using a Siliconized Acrylic Latex Caulk
(available at home construction stores) that is non- sanded. Sanded
caulk is not recommended, but can be used with extra care. |
 |
| Cut the dispensing tip of the caulk tube at a 45 degree angle, and place in a caulking gun.
|
 |
Dispense caulk in the "V" grove of the tile, filling grove completely to the
surface of the tile.
Remove any large deposits of the caulk with your finger.
|
|
 |
 |
 |
Using a damp tile sponge,
wipe the caulkat a 45 degree angle to the tiles, using very little pressure.
Rinse sponge after every stroke.
|
Continue to sponge until
only a slight glaze is left
on the tile and there is
no grout on the tile surface. |
Let the caulk set up for
at least 12 hours, then
brake the glaze with a non abrasive pan scrubber and sponge clean. |
